Elliot Cowan stars in "Sinbad" on Syfy as Gunnar, a skilled thief who is tough, tiny and secretive with a feral quality.

British actor Elliot Cowan attended the University of Birmingham, where he majored in drama, before going to the National Youth Music Theatre for two years from 1994 to 1996 to hone his talent for the guitar and cello. He then graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2001.

On UK television, Cowan recently played Mark Ashburn in "Marchlands," Matthew Symmonds in "The Fixer," and Mr. Darcy in the drama "Lost in Austen," all on ITV. He can also be seen in Starz' "Da Vinci's Demons." Other credits include the feature film "The Golden Compass," "The Ruby in the Smoke," "Alexander," "Foyle's War," "Poirot," "Judge John Deed," "Jonathan Creek" and "Egypt."

His stage roles include the title role of "Macbeth" at the Globe Theatre in London; Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire" at the Donmar Warehouse London, opposite Rachel Weisz and Ruth Wilson; "Revenger's Tragedy" at the National Theatre, London; Friedrich Schiller's "Don Carlos" at the Gielgud Theatre in London with Derek Jacobi and Richard Coyle; "Henry V"; "Camille"; and "The Seagull."
