  Since early 2006, when actor Eric Dane first appeared on "Grey's Anatomy" as Dr. Mark "McSteamy" Sloan, television viewers everywhere have shown much interest in this talented actor. "Grey's Anatomy" was honored at the 2007 SAG Awards with the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Performance by an Ensemble Cast and at the 2007 Golden Globes, receiving the award for Best Television Series - Drama. Eric Dane was raised in San Francisco, the older of two brothers whose father was an architect and interior designer and mother a homemaker. While excelling as an athlete in high school, it was there that he was bitten by the acting bug in a production of Arthur Miller's play "All My Sons." After moving to Los Angeles in 1993, Eric Dane made his TV debut on "The Wonder Years," and proceeded to be cast in guest and recurring roles on "Charmed," "The American Embassy" and, giving precedence to his current role, as a doctor on "Gideon's Crossing." Eric Dane has appeared in several television films including "Serving in Silence" and the remake of "Helter Skelter." Eric Dane also appeared in A & E's "Wedding Wars," opposite John Stamos. On the big screen, Eric Dane's first major role came in 1999 in the World War I film "The Basket," and he was subsequently featured in the comedy "Sol Goode." Other film credits for Eric Dane include the tongue-in-cheek horror flick"Feast" and "Open Water: Adrift." Eric Dane made an impression on audiences as Jamie Madrox playing Multiple Man in the summer blockbuster hit "X-Men: The Last Stand." Eric Dane can also be seen opposite Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson in the comedy "Marley & Me" for Fox 2000, directed by David Frankel.
Eric Dane currently resides in Los Angeles.
