Erica Hill is the co-anchor of CBS's "The Early Show."
Previously, Erica Hill served as news anchor for "The Early Show" since January 2010 and co-anchor of the Saturday edition of the broadcast since September 2008. In addition, she served as news anchor and correspondent for CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" (2005-10), and as a substitute anchor for Cooper and Campbell Brown (2008-10). Most recently, she also anchored "CNN Tonight (2009)." Prior to that, she was the anchor of "Prime News with Erica Hill," a live two-hour interview and news program on HLN, formerly CNN Headline News, (2006-08), and a correspondent and substitute anchor on CNN. Hill joined HLN in 2003 as an anchor on the network's daily shows before she became co-anchor of "Prime News Tonight" (2005-06). She was a national correspondent for "CNN Newsource" in its Washington, D.C., bureau (2004).
While at CNN, Hill covered many breaking stories, including the 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns, the war in Iraq, the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and the 2003 blackout that affected a large portion of the Northeast. She reported from Mississippi as part of CNN's coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
Before joining CNN, Hill served as co-anchor and correspondent for TechTV's daily news program, "Tech Live" (2001-03), from where she anchored live coverage of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. As a reporter for TechTV News, Hill covered a wide variety of technology stories, and co-produced specials for the network on several topics, including the debate surrounding embryonic stem cell research, the technology behind the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2001 Academy Awards (1998-2003).
Hill began her journalism career at PC Week as a production assistant for "PC Week Radio," the magazine's online news radio station (1998).
She graduated summa cum laude from Boston University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Hill lives in New York City with her husband and two young sons.
