Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days and what do you get? The answer is "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" has won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality Program, plus the People's Choice Award for Favorite Reality Show/Makeover and the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program.

For the fourth straight season, ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" ranked No. 1 in its Sunday 8 o'clock time period in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic. During the 2006-07 TV Season, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" beat its nearest competitor in the hour by 26% in Adults 18-49 (4.8/12 vs. 3.8/10 - Fox). The broad appealing ABC unscripted series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," also led its time slot among Total Viewers (13.3 million), Adults 25-54 (5.4/12) and Kids 2-11 (3.2/12).

For Season Five, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will open in Hawaii and travel all across America to visit states it's never been to in continuing family builds in all 50 states over two seasons. There's nowhere "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" won't go to help a family in need. This seasonon "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" expect to see more extreme homes, the latest in extreme technology—highlighted by an all "green" build in Arizona—and families with more immediate need for a home than ever before. In addition, there will be a green element on every episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" this season, with eco-friendly, low energy and recyclable sources being incorporated into the builds.

Each episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is self-contained and features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house - every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping.

The lives of the lucky families are forever changed on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" when they learn that they've been selected to have their home walls moved, their floors replaced and even their façades radically changed. The result should be a decorator's delight...if it can be done in time.

Each episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" begins with team leader Ty Pennington's now-famous "Good morning!" wake-up call, when he, along with the other designers, surprises the unsuspecting family with news that their home has been chosen to receive a makeover. Then viewers witness not only the unbelievable transformation of the house, but during the final and emotional reveal on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," they see how the home makeover has impacted the lives of the deserving families.

The design team on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" includes team leader Ty Pennington, with designers Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson, Tanya McQueen, Eduardo Xol and John Littlefield. New designers for this season will be Rib Hillis and Didiayer.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is President of Endemol USA. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is executive-produced by Denise Cramsey and premiered December 3, 2003.
