Exploring a grisly crime from the point of view of the eyewitness, the series delves into the lives of two innocent teenaged boys after they secretly meet up in the forest, bear witness to a shooting and barely escape with their lives. Desperate to keep their relationship a secret and in fear of being found by the perpetrator, they remain silent but soon learn that what has been seen cannot be unseen and when you witness a horrible event it changes everything, forever.
Julianne Nicholson ("Black Mass," "Masters of Sex") stars as Helen Torrance, a former big-city homicide detective who left her harrowing career to become a small-town sheriff and loving wife. However, when a gruesome crime occurs she's thrust back into the traumas of her past — just as she's begun her hardest case yet: fostering a teenage boy.
Tyler Young ("Empire") plays Philip O'Brien, a sensitive yet tough teenager from the projects who has seen more pain than anyone ever should. But he gets a shot to start over with his foster mother, Helen, in an idyllic small town. There, Philip's on the verge of falling in love with a boy from school, Lukas, when they witness a quadruple murder. Philip becomes more troubled than ever as the two boys swear themselves to secrecy for fear of being outed.
James Paxton ("Texas Rising") plays Lukas Hallenbeck, a young teenaged boy who seems to have it all — popularity, motocross stardom, and the hottest girl in school. But beneath the surface, he's deeply conflicted about his sexuality. When he meets Philip — a classmate who's more comfortable in his skin — Lukas starts a journey towards self-acceptance that is interrupted when the boys witness a quadruple murder. His sanity begins to slip as he's hunted by the killer and haunted by the fear of being outed as gay and losing everything he has.
Gil Bellows ("Ascension," "11.22.63") plays Gabe, a small-town veterinarian whose decency, integrity and compassion rescued Helen from her self-destructive cycle of living. But the pressures of fostering Philip amidst Helen's shocking homicide case threaten to tear the marriage apart.
Tattiawna Jones ("19-2," "Strange Empire") plays the recurring role of Kamilah, an unapologetic FBI agent who suddenly finds her loyalty to her job and troubled sister at odds. When Kamilah's own case intersects with Sherriff Hellen Torrance's, they forge a friendship that leads her to question everything she thought she wanted.
Matt Murray ("Kevin from Work," "Rookie Blue") plays the recurring role of Tony, Helen's bright-eyed and bushy-tailed deputy with big dreams, whose life is forever changed when a grisly crime happens in his small town.
"Eyewitness" is produced by Universal Cable Productions (UCP). Scott Peters ("V," "The 4400"), Adi Hasak (Creator, "Shades of Blue") and Jarl Emsell Larsen serve as executive producers.
