Fares Fares stars in "Safe House," opposite Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, as Vargas.

Fares Fares, the Lebanon-born Swedish favorite, has played the lead in two of the top 15 blockbusters in the history of Swedish cinema, "Jalla Jalla!" and "Kopps." It is his provocative and wildly entertaining performances in these two films that made Fares into a Swedish legend. He won Best Actor at the PeƱiscola Comedy Film Festival for "Kopps" and was awarded the Silver Hugo at the Chicago International

Film Festival for his performance in the Swedish ensemble production "Day and Night."

More recently he was seen in "Kill Your Darlings," with Lolita Davidovich, "7 Millionaires," "For a Moment, Freedom" and "Snabba Cash" (aka "Easy Money"), for which he will reprise his role as Mahmoud in the sequel, "Snabba Cash II."

An edgy actor with a compelling bad-boy exterior and genius comedic timing, Fares is a tour-de-force with whom to be reckoned in the modern Scandinavian film world and beyond.
