Florence Faivre stars in "The Expanse" on Syfy.

Florence Faivre was raised in the town of Aix-en-Provence, France, by her French father and Thai mother. Early in her adolescence, the family moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where Faivre started her career in show business at the age of 13. She was the regular host of two Thai television shows — "Teentalk" and "E for Teens" — while also guest hosting countless television shows throughout South East Asia.

In 2002, Faivre was chosen to be the lead in the film "The Siam Renaissance." She was unanimously praised by the critics for her performance in the film and received a Best Actress nomination at the 2004 Bangkok International Film Festival Golden Kinnaree Awards.

Faivre then moved to New York City to further pursue her acting career. Soon afterwards, she was cast as the female lead alongside Bernard Giraudeau in "Chokdee." A year later, she took on the female lead in "The Elephant King," which also stars Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn. Faivre has also been seen in the horror thriller "The Coffin."

On television, Faivre has made guest appearances in NBC's "Kings," HBO's "How to Make It in America," FOX's "The Following" and Amazon's "Alpha House."
