Gabriel Basso stars in "The Big C" on Showtime as Adam, the teenage son of lead character Cathy, who is played by Laura Linney.

On the big screen, Gabriel Basso stars opposite Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning in the sci-fi thriller "Super 8" as Martin. The film is written, directed and produced by J.J. Abrams. Steven Spielberg is also a producer.

Gabriel first discovered his love of acting at the age of twelve while running lines with his two sisters, who were acting in a short film. He soon moved to Los Angeles, and began to pursue acting full-time. He has played gust roles on episodes of several television shows, including "The Middle," "Eastwick," "iCarly" and The Haunting Hour."

In 2009, Gabriel scored a breakout role opposite John Goodman in the indie film "Alabama Moon." The film was based on the Newberry Award winning Young Adult novel of the same name.

In addition to acting, Gabriel enjoys baseball, soccer, football, martial arts (he's a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do), tennis, swimming, and ultimate frisbee. Gabriel also started playing violin at the age of five, and he currently plays in his school's orchestra. He divides his time between St. Louis and Los Angeles.
