Garrett Morris stars in "2 Broke Girls" on CBS as Earl. Created by Michael Patrick King, the comedy follows two young girls living and struggling in New York City.
Garrett Morris is a writer, actor, singer, composer and comedian with more than 50 years in the entertainment industry. Born and raised in New Orleans, Morris was always performing, even at a young age. As a member of the Baptist Church where his grandfather preached, he found his passion for performing while singing in the church choir
His credits include more than 50 Broadway and off-Broadway shows and 70 motion picture and television performances. He has also written two off-Broadway plays. Morris's Broadway credits include "Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death," "Hallelujah Baby," and "Porgie & Bess." He was the collaborating director for the award-winning short film, "Lying Right Here."
As a singer and songwriter, Morris has worked with Harry Belafonte as well as several singing groups on the east coast.
After appearing in the 1973-1974 season of "Roll Out," he was hired as one of the original cast members on "Saturday Night Live." He appeared on the series from 1975–1980. His many television credits include a series regular role as Stan Kemrite in FOX's "Martin," alongside Martin Lawrence, as well as recurring roles on the The WB comedies "Cleghorne!" and "The Jamie Foxx Show." Morris has also guest-starred on numerous other shows, including "Shameless," "All of Us," "The Hughleys," "According to Jim," "Boston Common," "City of Angels," "Hunter" and "The Jeffersons."
His feature film credits include "The Longshots," starring Ice Cube and Keke Palmer, and "Almost Blue," opposite Michael Madsen," "Cooley High," "Car Wash" and "Jackpot," for which he was nominated for a Spirit Award.
Morris is the host and co-owner of The Downtown Comedy Club in Los Angeles.
Currently, he resides in Los Angeles.
