George Young stars in "Containment" on The CW as Dr. Victor Cannerts, a CDC researcher racing to find a cure for a deadly virus that has quarantined part of Atlanta.

George Young, who is of Chinese and Greek descent, began his career in acting studying in New York and London before going to school to study psychology and law. Following his parents advice, he became a lawyer, but soon went back to acting and landed a role in the long-running BBC drama "Casualty."

In 2010, Young appeared in his first international film "Jhootha Hi Sahi," which included an original soundtrack composed by Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman. The Bollywood film reached the top spot in the Indian box office. Other international film credits include "Final Recipe," alongside Michelle Yeoh and "In the Room," directed by internationally-acclaimed Singaporean director and Palme d'Or-nominated Eric Khoo.

In 2011, Young hosted the Asian version of the globally franchised game show "Million Dollar Money Drop." That same year, he won the ELLE Award for Breakout Star of the Year. In between acting, Young has hosted several other programs, including specials on E! News Asia.

On the small screen, Young landed the lead role in the critically acclaimed drama "The Pupil," starring as the titular new pupil. Other television credits include "Grace," a miniseries produced by HBO Asia.

In 2012, Young made his professional theater debut in the lead role of Guy in Pandemonium's "Swimming with Sharks." The role landed him the 2012 ELLE Award for Actor of the Year.

Outside of acting, Young, who has two brothers with autism, spends time raising awareness for the disorder. In 2012 and 2013, he partnered with Kiehl's to help raise funds for schools and charities that specialize in autism.
