"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2011) is the first film in Columbia Pictures' three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson's literary blockbuster "The Millennium Trilogy." Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon. 

The cast also includes Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgård, Steven Berkoff, Robin Wright, Yorick van Wageningen and Joely Richardson.

"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2011) is produced by Scott Rudin Productions and Yellow Bird Films. The screenplay is by Steven Zaillian, based on the book by Stieg Larsson, originally published by Norstedts. The producers are Scott Rudin, Ole Sondberg, Søren Stærmose and Ceán Chaffin; and the executive producers are Steven Zaillian, Mikael Wallen and Anni Faurbye Fernandez.
