As they have done with all of life's obstacles, the couple continues their vow — "in sickness and in health" — to stand together. Viewers will get an intimate look into Giuliana's journey as she returns to work, leaving Bill to find balance with their new houseguests — Giuliana's parents, Anna and Eduardo. Additionally, this season will celebrate the couple's achievements, such as the opening of their restaurant RMP Italian in Chicago, which features many of Giuliana's mother's, Mamma DiPandi's, recipes and leads the couple to look for a new home in Chicago. As their immediate focus is on Giuliana's recovery, the future is always top of mind for Giuliana and Bill as they continue to dream of one day starting a family.
Season 4
"Giuliana & Bill" Season 4 returns as the Rancics, still reeling from the miscarriage of their first child, face their uncertain future. The new season of this compelling look inside a modern marriage promises to be a year of fun along with the same inspiring and often stark reality for which the show has become known and loved by millions. Giuliana and Bill will step back from the stress of expanding their family and focus on returning their marriage to how it was when they were newlyweds. The challenges, the joys, the disappointments and the triumphs are all on the screen for viewers to share as Giuliana and Bill face their lives in front of and behind the cameras, together.
"Giuliana & Bill" has followed the celebrity power couple as they fell in love, got married, and set up housekeeping ... twice, in fact. He's a Chicagoan, and she's a L.A. girl whose TV career is at its height. With homes in both Chicago and Los Angeles, the couple blended their respective friends and families in two separate locations, and each logged thousands of air miles to be together whenever possible. They tried to start a family as well, with a demanding fertility process that wreaked havoc on Giuliana. Determined to conceive, the couple embarked on in-vitro fertilization in season three, and while pregnancy was achieved, a miscarriage left the couple emotionally devastated. While the healing process is lengthy and painful, together Giuliana and Bill forge ahead to the next chapter in their lives as a family, with or without the children for which they so fervently hope.
Season four finds the Rancics questioning the ongoing viability of maintaining homes in two American cities, hours apart by air travel. Between Bill's constant traveling and speaking engagements and Giuliana's increasing on-air and production presence keeping her in L.A. more and more, things will come to a head when the couple determines they can no longer go on the way that they have been. And with the question of starting a family ever bubbling beneath the surface, they must decide whether to live together full time once and for all, and if so, on whose turf.
Expansion is also in the cards for the Rancics this season, but it is not what you might expect. It turns out that Giuliana comes from a long line of excellent Italian cooks, and she and Bill start plans to open their own restaurant, inspired by Giuliana's mom's — aka Mama DePandi's — recipes and their desire to make something of their own together. Additionally, Bill turns 40 this year and his quest for a settled home life with children is still in flux while the clock ticks by, and Giuliana's slate continues to be very full covering the Royal Wedding in London for E! News and launching her own clothing line.
Their vows to take one another "for richer or poorer and in sickness and in health" are tested again and again as Giuliana and Bill continue to face — and overcome — the challenges all couples face when both are self-realized individuals with demanding careers and active lifestyles.
"Giuliana & Bill" is produced by Comcast Entertainment Studios, a division of NBC Universal. Executive producers are Robert Sizemore, Mykelle Sabin and Jay James for Comcast Entertainment Studios and Giuliana Rancic and Bill Rancic. Renee G. Simon and Ruth Rafidi serve as network executives on the show.
