Greg Bretz is competing in the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver in snowboarding.

The youngest member of the U.S. men's halfpipe team, Greg Bretz finished second behind reigning Olympic champion Shaun White at the second stop of the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, the five-event series that determined Olympic halfpipe qualifying. Bretz was the fourth and final rider to be named to the men's Olympic halfpipe team.

At age five, Bretz relocated from Anaheim to Mammoth, California, where his father worked lift maintenance at Mammoth Mountain resort. Bretz would often follow along with his father while he worked, and his snowboarding career began soon thereafter.

Though he's the youngest member of the U.S. men's snowboarding team and was the last competitor added to the four-man American halfpipe squad, Bretz does boast the double-cork, the maneuver featuring two off-axis flips that is widely seen as essential to reaching the Olympic podium in Vancouver.
