Gwen Casella from "Relapse" is one of the sober coaches on the A&E reality docu-series.

Gwen Casella ("Relapse") started using at a very early age. Growing up in an environment where drug use and drinking was seemingly normal behavior, by the time she was 10, Gwen was using speed, and by 13, heroin. From childhood to mid twenties she used to live and lived to use, ended up getting arrested several times and went to prison. During her last time in prison, she was sent to a drug program called "Forever Free," where she met a counselor (her eskimo) who would profoundly impact her life. For the first time, says Gwen, she thought maybe there was a different way to live. She was 27 when she got clean and sober in 1997. Her daughter, who was three at the time, is now 17.

Gwen worked in treatment for over a decade, attended Drug and Alcohol Studies at Pierce and at Mission colleges. In 2002 she started serving as a sober coach on the side. She considers herself very lucky to be trained by some amazing mentors for whom she has always had a tremendous respect. Integrity is the most important factor in her work.

No longer working in treatment, Gwen has been devoting 100% of her time to her passion: coaching. She believes she was meant to do this work and loves doing it. "If I can make a difference in one persons life, restore hope to an addicts heart, my job is done. One person can make a profound difference."
