The Disney Channel Original Movie, "High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing," is the sequel to the wildly successful TV movie, "High School Musical."
Director and choreographer Kenny Ortega is once again back at the helm. "High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing" will feature the six original cast members, Zac Efron as Troy Bolton, Vanessa Anne Hudgens as Gabriella Montez, Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay Evans, Lucas Grabeel as Ryan Evans, Corbin Bleu as Chad Danforth, and Monique Coleman as Taylor McKessie.
The whole gang gathers at a summer resort owned by Sharpay and Ryan's grandparents where they pamper them, while Troy and Gabriella have to earn some summer cash as a lifeguard and waitress. They all naturally focus on the resort's annual end-of-summer talent show. What's more, Sharpay has her sights set on Troy and enlists her brother to help her drive a wedge between him and Gabriella.
"High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing" is filled with singing, dancing, romance, and swimming pool adventures. The movie was filmed in St. George and Salt Lake City.
The expectations for "High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing" are immense. Since the original movie premiered on the Disney Channel in January 2006, more than 100 million people have seen it. The soundtrack was the top-selling album of its year, with more than 3.7 million copies sold. In addition, people scooped up more than 7.5 million copies of the DVD. The "High School Musical" concert tour, featuring nearly all the movie's principal cast, was a top-grossing concert for months. There was even a very successful "High School Musical: The Ice Tour." Co-producer Don Schain says, "The expectations are enormous. I think it's fair to say everyone is feeling additional pressure because of those things.''
