Hiro Tanaka stars in "DTLA," a drama series on Logo, as Kai.

Originally from San Francisco, California, Hiro Tanaka moved to Japan after high school and made his musical theater debut in the Tokyo production of the Broadway musical, "Rent," as Angel in 2008. Since then he has also starred in the off-Broadway musical, "Altar Boyz in Tokyo," as Luke, and the Tokyo production of "Guys & Dolls," as Nicely Nicely Johnson. His other credits include the role of Geni in the Japanese adaptation of the popular Brazilian opera, "Opera Do Malandro."

Tanaka has appeared in several international commercials for Canon, Lipton, Pepsi, and Hyundai. Having started his entertainment career as a dancer, he has also expanded his career in Japan as an actor, singer, choreographer and dance instructor. Since his success in Japan he has broadened his endeavors by moving to Los Angeles where he is currently pursuing a career in film and television.
