Ian Hargrove from "Project Runway 2016" is one of the contestants in Season 15 of the Lifetime reality fashion design competition series. He is a 30-year-old designer from Chicago, Illinois. He was raised though in Cary, Illinois.

Ian Hargrove has been designing for six years. He has his own label called "AGAINSTALLODDS" and is completely self-taught. His influences include his idea of a "cool girl," simply dressed, with details and unexpected colors, prints or textures.

Hargrove's favorite designers are Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, and Baja East, while his style icons are Jaden Smith and Jenna Lyons. Hargrove's favorite past "Project Runway" designer is Fabio Costa.

Here is an interview with Hargrove:

When did you realize you had designer potential?

High school art class.

What is your design training?

I have an unfinished fashion design degree, so I'm mostly self taught… lots of YouTube videos.

Strengths as a designer?

Taste level, editing eye and speed.

Weaknesses as a designer?

Hand sewing and complicated draping techniques.

How did you end up auditioning for "Project Runway"?

It was my first time and honestly I auditioned on a lark and obviously the moon and sun were aligned or something.

Challenge you wish they'd bring back?

Hard to pin one down specifically. I think I could do really well at a lot of the previous challenges.

Challenge you hope they don't?

Definitely the grocery store unconventional challenge.

What's your take on team challenges?

I think I will love and hate them. I am a strong personality that sometimes clashes with other people, but I am looking forward to learning from the other designers and a team challenge is the perfect opportunity to soak up some skills from designers that may be more educated or have more experience than I do.

Do you think you can win "Project Runway"?

I think I can win. I am confident in what I do, I know I can execute the challenges in the time frame and my sh*t's super cute. "In it to win it, baby!"
