Iván García Navarro is a diver competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for Mexico.

Iván García Navarro was a 10m platform bronze medalist at the 2010 Youth Olympics, where he served as flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony for the Mexican delegation. He took seventh at the 2011 World Championships and won gold at 2011 Pan American Games. Garcia Navarro was third (in a field that did not include top Europeans or the leading Chinese divers) at the 2012 U.S. Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale in May.

Garcia Navarro started competing in the synchronized 10m platform with German Sanchez in 2008. In 2011, the pair finished in the top four of every international competition they entered — except the World Championships — and had wins at the World Series in Guanajuato, Mexico and the 2011 Pan American Games in their hometown and training base of Guadalajara. They placed second at the 2012 World Cup held at the Olympic Aquatics Centre in London.

Known as two of the most acrobatic divers in the world, Sanchez and Garcia debuted an inward 4 ½ somersaults tuck at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai. The dive carries a 4.1 degree of difficulty, making it the hardest dive in the world. They won silver at the World Cup in February despite not performing the dive. Even without it, they had the most difficult list of dives in the competition, including a front 4 ½ tuck (3.7 dd) and a front 2 ½ pike with three twists (3.8). U.S. high performance director Steve Foley says they've "raised the bar."

In March 2011, Diana Diaz, a promising 15-year-old who trained with Sanchez and Garcia under coach Ivan Bautista, was killed in a car accident that also claimed both of her parents. Diaz had been a close friend of Sanchez's and he carries a picture of her in his bag whenever he goes to meets.
