Jake Abel recently costarred as Dennis Kearns, the son of embattled inventor Robert Kearns (Greg Kinnear) in the acclaimed drama, "Flash of Genius." For his work in the film, Abel was cited with a Rising Star Award (along with a half-dozen other performers) at the 16th Hamptons International Film Festival. He also starred co-starring opposite Oscar-winners Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon and nominees Mark Wahlberg and Saoirse Ronan in Peter Jackson's film adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel, "The Lovely Bones."
Abel hails from Canton, Ohio, where, as a youngster, he took improv acting classes. Upon his family's relocation to South Carolina, he continued his acting pursuits, which paid off with his first professional assignment at the age of sixteen—a commercial for Old Navy.
He debuted on series television with a role in the Disney Channel's "Go Figure" before landing a recurring role on the short-lived CBS series "Threshold." He has guest-starred on such series as "Cold Case," "ER," "CSI:NY," "CSI: Miami" and had a recurring role as Adam Milligan on The CW's "Supernatural."
Abel has also appeared in several independent films including "Strange Wilderness," "Tru Loved" and "18." He also co-starred in a 10-episode web series called "Angel of Death."
