James McNeiece from "The Voice" is one of top 48 artists in Season 8 of the NBC reality singing competition series. From Howell, Michigan, he is on Adam Levine's team.

James McNeiece sang "Lay Me Down" by Sam Smith for his blind audition. After Levine was the only judge to turn his chair around, he became James' coach by default.

While studying criminal justice in college with plans of becoming a SWAT officer, James decided on a whim to enter an online contest for the next pop super group. He was selected and decided to leave college to join the group, traveling around the country for two years. When the contract ended, James returned to Los Angeles to rebuild his solo career. He currently works for a shipping company, but he hopes making it on "The Voice" will validate why he left college to do what he loves.
