Jamey Sheridan Trauma
Jamey Sheridan stars in NBC's drama "Trauma" as Dr. Joe Saviano.

Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Jamey Sheridan is best know on television for his starring role as Captain James Deakins on NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and for his portrayal of complicated doctor John Sutton on "Chicago Hope." He was acclaimed as the maverick attorney in the title role of John Sayles' quirky NBC drama "Shannon's Deal," and later as the man-demon Randall Flagg in the Stephen King mini-series "The
Stand." Sheridan has turned in notable performances in television movies including "The Lost Child," "The Echo of Thunder" opposite Judy Davis, "Spring Awakening," "All Lies End In Murder," "Video Voyeur: The Susan Wilson Story," and "Ricky Nelson: Teen Idol," as Ozzie Nelson.

Perhaps Sheridan's most recognizable movie role is the taciturn scientist Jim Carver in Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm" with Joan Allen. His other notable films include Stephen Gaghan's "Syriana," "Life as a House," "Hamlet" as the King, "The Cradle Will Rock" opposite Emily Watson, "Luminous Motion" and "Desert Saints." Among his earlier films are "Stanley and Iris," "A Stranger Among Us," "Distant Thunder," "Talent For The Game," "All I Want For Christmas," "Whispers In The Dark," "Quick Change," and "Wild America."

Most recently, he played the title role in "Handsome Harry," which he also produced and which premiered in competition at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival.

An accomplished talent on stage, Sheridan first gained notice on Broadway for his Tony Award-nominated performance of Chris Keller in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons"—a show which also garnered a Tony for "Best Revival." The next year, he portrayed James Tyrone, Jr. in the great Jose Quintero's beloved production of "Long Day's Journey into Night" with Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst.

Sheridan has graced the Broadway boards with other stimulating performances including Sgt. Toomey in "Biloxi Blues" and ""The Shadow Box." Off-Broadway, he appeared in "Julius Caesar" as Brutus at the New York Shakespeare Festival in Central Park and in "Killer's Head" by Sam Shepard, at the Public Theater. Other memorable roles include Alan Turing in "Breaking the Code" at the Berkshire Theater Festival, his return to the role of James Tyrone, Jr. in Eugene O'Neill's "Moon for the Misbegotten" at Williamstown, and "Enigma Variations," a duet opposite Donald Sutherland at the Mark Taper Forum.
