Jamie McShane was born and raised in Northern New Jersey. He received his B.A. in English from the University of Richmond in Virginia. At 22 years old, he backpacked around the world, traveling extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. numerous plays in New York City, New Jersey, and on tour.

McShane moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to pursue TV and film. His early "breaks" included roles on "NYPD Blue" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." He won a Best Actor Award at the 2002 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films for his lead role in the AFI film, "Fine," which went on to win an Academy Award for Best Student Film.

McShane has had roles in major films like "Terminator 3," "Hostage," "Gridiron Gang," "Pride and Glory," "Mr. Brooks," "Thor," directed by Kenneth Branagh, "The Avengers," "Argo" and "Gone Girl."

McShane has appeared in over 90 television episodes in the last decade, portraying a wide variety of characters. He has had recurring roles in TNT's "Murder in the First" as Justin Burnside, ABC Family's "The Fosters" as Donald Jacob, TNT's "Southland" as Sergeant Terry Hill, FX's "Sons of Anarchy" as Cameron Hayes, Fox News Channel's "The ½ Hour News Hour" as Timothy Cox, ABC's "The Nine" as Henry Vartak, and FOX's "24" as Gerry Whitehorn. McShane has also appeared in episodes of numerous series, including more recently "King & Maxwell," "Touch," "Ironside," "Vegas," "Grimm," "CSI: NY," "Breaking Bad," "Franklin & Bash," "Longmire," "Castle," "Breakout Kings," "NCIS," "House" and "Lincoln Heights." In addition, he was seen in National Geographic Channel's original movie "Killing Kennedy."

McShane lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two little boys.
