Janet McTeer stars in "The Woman in Black," opposite Daniel Radcliffe and Ciarán Hinds, as Mrs. Daily. McTeer will soon be seen in the feature films "Island," directed by Elizabeth Mitchell, and Margarethe Von Trotta's "Hannah Ardent."

The Olivier Award is the highest stage acting honor in England. She went on to play the same role on Broadway in 1997 and received a Tony Award. She was nominated for another Tony in 2009 for her leading performance in the play "Mary Stuary." She also appeared recently in the British premiere of "God of Carnage," the acclaimed new play by French playwright Yasmina Reza.
McTeer has also starred in numerous films and television series, working consistently in both England and the United States. Some of her more notable film credits include Terry Gilliam's "Tideland," "Wuthering Heights," opposite Juliette Binoche, "As You Like It," and "Tumbleweeds," for which she received an Oscar nomination.
On television, McTeer has appeared on numerous series in England, including "Five Days," "The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard," "Sense & Sensibility," "Hunter" and "Psychoville."
In addition to her other honors, McTeer was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honors List for her services to drama.
She graduated from the highly prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
