Jason Gedrick got his first acting break in his native Chicago when the feature film "Bad Boys," starring Sean Penn, was filmed on location there. Then a high school student, he landed a role as an extra, and Penn's encouragement inspired him to study acting in earnest.
Gedrick soon landed leading roles in several films, including "Iron Eagle," "Stacking" and "Heavenly Kid." He went on to co-star with Meg Ryan and Kiefer Sutherland in "Promised
Gedrick simultaneously pursued stage work, starring on Broadway in "Our Town," with Don Ameche and Helen Hunt, as well as in the off-Broadway production of "Mrs. Dally Has a Lover" (with Judith Ivey). Gedrick was seen on stage again opposite Hector Elizondo in "Wrong Turn at Lungfish," directed by Garry Marshall for the Falcon Theater.
On television, Gedrick starred as the murder defendant in Steven Bochco's drama "Murder One" series and then went on to star in the critically acclaimed series "EZ Streets," with Ken Olin and Joe Pantoliano. Gedrick then starred with Danny Aiello and Joe Mantegna in Mario Puzo's "The Last Don," a six-hour miniseries that was a ratings success. He later reprised his starring role in Mario Puzo's "The Last Don II." Later, Gedrick played the series lead on the drama "Falcone," based on the film "Donnie Brasco." He also starred on the critically acclaimed series "Boomtown" and NBC's drama "Windfall" as Cameron Walsh, a married man in love with the wrong spouse. He also recurred on ABC's "Desperate Housewives" as Rick Coletti.
Recent guest appearances include "Lie to Me," "Cold Case," "Lincoln Heights," "Ghost Whisperer" and "Supernatural." His TV movie credits include "Sand Serpents," "The Christmas Choir," "Kings of South Beach" and "Hidden Places."
