Jay Mattioli from "America's Got Talent" is one of the wildcard contestants selected to compete on the live shows on Season 4 of the NBC talent competition. He is a 27-year-old magician from Manassas, Virginia.
When Jay was three years old, his parents hired a magician to perform at his brother's birthday party, but Jay got the gift that day and it was magic. From that moment on, magicians were added to Jay's group of heroes: Superman and Michael Jackson were joined with David Copperfield. Jay started to perform at family functions, impersonating MJ, but eventually realized magic was his calling.
At 12 years, Jay and his family moved to the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, where he spent many years in his parents' garage building his own magic props out of scrap cardboard, duck tape, glue and wood, along with help from his dad whenever he needed the use of power tools. At 13 Jay was officially in business, performing magic at birthday and Boy Scout events, with mom and dad as the official magic van drivers.
In 2003 he moved to the DC area to pursue magic full time, performing for any event that is willing to hire him. AGT is the big break he has been waiting for, and Jay is ready to have his magic career suddenly appear!
