Jay Paulson's start in entertainment came in the ninth grade when he missed the school bus and some students talked him into auditioning for the school play. He got a leading role in a middle school production of "Interview" and, within a couple of years, caught the eye of a talent manager in the audience while starring in a high school production of "Once in a Lifetime." Paulson's television credits include the ABC series "October Road," where he had a starring role as Physical Phil, and earlier on NBC's "Battery Park" and CBS' "Cybill." He's also made guest appearances on "Mad Men," "CSI," "Studio 60," "The West Wing," "NYPD Blue" and "Just Shoot Me."
On the big screen Paulson can soon be seen with Jason Schwartzman and Ben Stiller in "The Marc Pease Experience." He has also appeared in "Imaginary Heroes," opposite Sigourney Weaver, and starred in the film "Rolling Kansas," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Other credits include "Go," "Can't Hardly Wait" and "Red and Blue Marbles," an independent film for which he's completed filming the lead. Paulson also collaborated with Christopher Guest in developing the role of "Curtis the Stock Boy" in an award-winning Kelloggs's Frosted Flakes campaign.
After spending years juggling his career with his studies, Paulson graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in history. He resides in Venice Beach with his wife, Courtney, and their two dogs.
