Jemima Kirke stars in "Girls" on HBO.

Jemima Kirke previously starred in Lena Dunham's independent feature film "Tiny Furniture," which received three Independent Spirit Award nominations, for Best First Feature, Best First Screenplay and Best Cinematography.

Jemima Kirke was born in London and raised there until she was ten years old. Since then she has lived in New York City where she attended the Little Red School House and later Saint Ann's High School, where she met Lena Dunham. Kirke moved on to study fine arts at the Rhode Island School of Design where she majored in painting.

She now resides in the East Village and works from her studio in Williamsburg.
