Jeremy Renner stars as Detective Jason Walsh on ABC's "The Unusuals." In late 2008, Jeremy Renner was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for the feature film "The Hurt Locker," directed by Kathryn Bigelow and co-starring Ralph Fiennes and Guy Pearce, a story about a bomb disposal unit in present day Baghdad. In 2007 Jeremy Renner was seen in three different features, "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," directed by Andrew Dominik, "28 Weeks Later," the highly anticipated sequel to "28 Days Later," and "Take" opposite Minnie Driver. In 2005 Jeremy Renner starred in the acclaimed independent film "12 and Holding" and in "Neo Ned," opposite Gabrielle Union. "Neo Ned" was screened at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival, swept the feature film category at the Palm Beach International Film Festival in 2006 and earned Renner Best Actor Award. Jeremy Renner starred opposite Academy Award winner Charlize Theron in Warner Bros.' "North Country," a fictionalized account of the first major successful sexual harassment case in the U.S. Jeremy Renner has been seen in "A Little Trip to Heaven," opposite Julia Stiles, "The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things," directed by Asia Argento, Columbia Pictures' "Lords of Dogtown" for Catherine Hardwicke, and Aura Entertainment's independent "Love Comes to the Executioner," written and directed by Kyle Bergersen. Jeremy Renner was also seen in the summer 2003 hit "S.W.A.T.," opposite Colin Farrell and Samuel L. Jackson. The role that put Renner on the map, earning him an Independent Spirit Award nomination, was that of Jeffrey Dahmer in the indie hit "Dahmer." With a background in theater, Jeremy Renner performs in plays throughout the Los Angeles area. Jeremy Renner's most memorable was "Search and Destroy," which he not only starred in but also co-directed, produced by Barry Levinson. Daily Variety said, "Renner is excellent as a low-keyed sociopath," while L.A. Weekly boasted "...dapper, would be wise guy, Renner is terrific in finding eccentric comedy...expertly executed." Between film and theater, Jeremy Renner finds the time to write, record and perform his own brand of contemporary rock.
