Jessica Chastain stars in "The Help," opposite Emma Stone and Viola Davis, as Celia Foote, an insecure Southern lady trying to fit in with the high society women who reject her. Chastain also stars in John Madden's independent espionage thriller "The Debt," as a younger version of Rachel Singer, played in her later years by Helen Mirren.

Upcoming films include Ami Canaan Mann's "The Dark Fields," reteaming her with Sam Worthington of "The Debt"; Ralph Fiennes' "Coriolanus"; and Jeff Nichols' "Take Shelter," opposite Michael Shannon.

Chastain recently starred in "The Tree of Life," an impressionistic drama directed by Terrence Malick, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. Chastain plays Pitt's wife Mrs. O'Brien, a repressed but luminous 1950s housewife. She clearly has made a strong impression on Malick, as she has already been confirmed for his as-yet-untitled next film.

A young actress, Jessica Chastain has emerged as one of the most sought-after talents of her generation. She trained at the world-renowned Juilliard School in New York City. While at Juilliard she appeared in numerous stage productions, including "Romeo and Juliet." Upon graduation, she received rave reviews for her performance in "The Cherry Orchard" opposite Michelle Williams at the Williamstown Theater Festival, and Richard Nelson's "Rodney's Wife" opposite David Strathairn off-Broadway at Playwright's Horizons. More recently, Chastain appeared in the role of Desmonda in Shakespeare's "Othello." The high-profile production, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Iago and directed by Peter Sellars, ran in both Vienna, Germany and New York City.

Following her senior showcase at Juilliard, Chastain received a coveted talent deal with Emmy Award winning writer and producer John Wells. Chastain has appeared in numerous television shows, including "ER," "Law & Order: Trial By Jury," "Veronica Mars," and "Journeyman."

Chastain made her screen debut in the title role of "Jolene," directed by Dan Ireland, opposite Rupert Friend, Frances Fisher, Dermot Mulroney and Michael Vartan. The feature film adaptation of the E.L. Doctorow short story earned Chastain the Best Actress Award at the 2008 Seattle International Film Festival. She was also seen in "Wild Salome."
