Jim Corcoran from "The First 48: Missing Persons" is one of the police detectives featured in the A&E reality series.

When he was growing up in County Clare, Ireland, Jim Corcoran had an uncle who was a Chicago Police officer. "He would come to visit us and he was a very impressive guy. He really loved being a cop." Corcoran emigrated to the U.S. and followed his uncle's example. Thirteen years ago, he joined 3 cousins who were Chicago Police officers.

Corcoran worked patrol and the Gang Tactical Unit before making detective. He's been with Missing Persons for 4 years. "I think our mission is to watch out for the young kids and the people who can't watch out for themselves."

Corcoran is a connoisseur of fine wines and an avid golfer with, "unfortunately, a 7 handicap."
