Jimmi Simpson appears regulars on "The Late Show with David Letterman" as Lyle the Intern. He has also had recurring roles on "Psych," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "My Name Is Earl," "Carnivale" and "24."  His film credits include "The Big Bang" (2010), Ricky Gervais' "The Invention of Lying" (2009), "Zodiac" (2007),"Stay Alive" (2006) and Amy Heckerling's "Loser" (2000).

In 2008, Simpson starred on Broadway in the play "The Farnsworth Invention" as the inventor of television, Philo T. Farnsworth, winning a Theatre World Award for his performance. Other theater credits include "Tartuffe," "The Rainmaker" on Broadway, "Camino Real," "The Winter's Tale" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Simpson graduated from Bloomsburg University and spent four seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. He is married to actress Melanie Lynskey.
