Jimmy Haney from "Clash of the Ozarks" stars in the Discovery Channel reality docu-series.

Jimmy Haney is an elusive mountain man who grew up in a tough, poor family in the Ozark Mountains. Jimmy's father believed that if you didn't work, you didn't eat. That philosophy put Jimmy at odds with his father early on, and around the age of twelve, Jimmy was taken in by Sevella Terrell and raised as one of her own, along with Marty Terrell. They have been like brothers ever since.

Part Choctaw Indian, Jimmy is one with the wilderness. He does not own a single pair of shoes and considers himself an outlaw and an adventurer. For this reason, Jimmy chooses to live in the woods along the river on his own terms, away from the general public. He squats on the Russell land and protects it as if it's his own. He also keeps an eye on the stills Crowbar and Marty Terrell have hidden on Crow's land.

Jimmy Haney has always been on the other side of the fence from the law. He has spent a combined 15 years in prison, and once took himself hostage by knife point in a jail cell. In Jimmy's eyes, living in the woods by himself keeps him out of trouble and out of the law man's cage.

Jimmy is illiterate, yet feels that he is smarter than most people because he can build a simple home, live off the land and get by just fine. He finds the outside world to be too complex and thus, he has no need for it. Jimmy is a free spirit who doesn't own anything and therefore has nothing to lose. That is also what makes him dangerous.
