Jimmy Robbins has been in the business for 26 years. He is now the signalman in Bryan Stacey's crew with Chris Castiglia and Dave Miller at the Alexander Hamilton Bridge. As of November 8, 2011 he had 6 years and 22 days left in the business. Not that he's counting. Ironworking is a tradition in the Robbins family; both Jimmy's father and his brother were both ironworkers. In 2001, after the September 11th attacks,
Jimmy, his brother and his father, who came out of retirement, were part of the rescue and recovery effort at the World Trade Center for 7 months. Jimmy has also worked on the top of the Empire State Building antennae, and assists with the erecting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree every year. When he's not working you can probably find him on his boat.
