Jimmy Shubert from "Last Comic Standing 2014" is a comedian who is one of the top 10 finalists in Season 8 of the NBC reality competition series.

Jimmy Shubert is a veteran comic, whose full contact comedy has led him from headlining the Improv and Comedy Store in Hollywood to his own stand-up special on Comedy Central, with five years in a recurring role on "King of Queens" and several appearances on "Entourage" for good measure. His comedy routine is performed from an observational point of view, in comedic short-story form, and typically focuses on poking fun at pop culture.

Shubert has produced three albums of his material, including "Animal Instincts" and "Pandemonium," as well as his own concert performance DVD, with all showcasing his hilarious take on the world at large. His crowning achievement was his hour-long stand-up comedy special "Alive N' Kickin'" — named one of the "Top Ten Best Stand-Up comedy DVDs for 2010" by leading comedy website punchlinemagazine.com. He also has a successful podcast entitled "The Jimmy Shubert Show," available on iTunes.

In September 2007, Shubert received rave reviews for his first half-hour special for Comedy Central. Also on the small screen, he made two appearances on HBO's hit comedy "Entourage" after five years in a recurring role on CBS's "King of Queens." Additional credits include "Heist," "The Loop," "ER," "Monk," "Reno 911," "Rude Awakenings," "Angel," "Once and Again," "Lucky," "Secret Service Guy" and "Just Shoot Me." More dramatic roles include playing everything from a prison guard in a hostage crisis to a murder victim on "Monk."

Shubert recently completed work on two short films entitled "Wedding Jimmy" and "Uncle Melvin's Apartment," which have made their rounds on the festival circuit, as well as a feature entitled "Cut Off," starring Amanda Brooks, Faye Dunaway and Malcolm McDowell.

Shubert has performed in Canada, Ireland, the Bahamas and Korea. In 2006, along with Drew Carey, Shubert performed for the troops in the Middle East and Afghanistan as part of the "America Supports You" program for the Defense Department and Armed Forces Entertainment.

Growing up as the son of a Philadelphia detective, Shubert was the middle child of seven brothers. He attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, majoring in drama. Always the class clown and performer, he became a professional magician at age 15, later channeling that energy into stand-up comedy.

Shubert started performing right out of high school at Philadelphia-area clubs and later moved to Los Angeles. There he worked at the Comedy Store, performing and writing material for acts like Yakov Smirnoff, Jimmy Walker and Andrew "Dice" Clay. Shubert also met and became friends there with Sam Kinison, who liked his chutzpah so much that Kinison included him as one of the original "Outlaws of Comedy," which Shubert toured with for five years.
