Jonathan Groff stars in "Glee" on FOX in the recurring role of Jesse St. James. He also appears in Robert Redford's "The Conspirator" (2010), opposite James McAvoy, Alexis Bledel and Evan Rachel Wood.

Jonathan Groff is a young veteran of the theater. He was most recently seen starring as Dionysus, the god of wine, in the Public Theater's summer staging of Euripides' "The Bacchae." The production, helmed by Obie Award-winning director JoAnne Akalaitis and featuring original music by Philip Glass, was part of the annual "Shakespeare in the Park" series at Central Park's Delacorte Theatre.

Groff is also well known for originating the character of Melchior Gabor in the popular Broadway musical "Spring Awakening." He won a Tony Award for Best Actor for the role in 2007. He left the show in 2008 to perform as Claude in the "Hair" concert. He has also been in Broadway's "In My Life" and the national tour of "The Sound of Music" as Rolf. Regional productions in which he has performed include "Fame," "Bat Boy," "Honk!" and "Godspell."

Groff made his big screen debut in Ang Lee's "Taking Woodstock." He will also be seen in "Twelve Thirty," written and directed by Jeff Lipsky. It is an independent drama about a broken family with adult children, and a self-centered young man (Groff) who, in the span of a week, becomes entangled in each of their lives, wreaking havoc in the process.

Groff played the recurring role of Henry in the daytime soap "One Life to Live."
