Justin Rain stars in "Defiance" on Syfy as Quentin McCawley.

Justin Rain is a professionally trained actor, multimedia artist and public speaker of Plains Cree descent. He was born and currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and was introduced to the local film and television industry soon after graduating high school. He worked with the East Vancouver Urban Native Theatre Company for three years before beginning formal study at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts, William Davis Centre, Second Avenue Studios and others throughout Greater Vancouver.

Best known for his work on Canadian television, Rain stars in the Gemini award-winning series "Blackstone," the kind and strong-hearted Alan Fraser, and has guest starred in "The Guard (Search and Rescue)," "Ayaa: A Hero's Journey," "Journeying Fourth," "Dance of My Beating Heart" and "Halq'emeylem Legend."

On the big screen, Rain had a bit role in Summit Entertainment's "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and played the lead role of the stubborn and fiercely intelligent Adam in the Canadian film "Two Indians Talking," winning the Rogers Peoples Choice Award at the 2010 Vancouver International Film Festival and landing him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco. He also took home the award for Best Actor at the 2010 Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival and has just recently been nominated for a Leo Award for his leading performance.

Rain has taken the stage in various productions in Vancouver, most recently co-starring in a Centre Theatre Group production, Richard Montoya's critically acclaimed "Palestine, New Mexico," which premiered at the prestigious Mark taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles in December 2009.
