Karen Waldrup from "Platinum Hit" is one of the contestants in the Bravo reality songwriting competition series. She writes a mix of folk, rock, country and blues songs, drawing her inspiration from the likes of Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Jewel, Faith Hill and Alanis Morissette. Waldrup would like to write a songs for Morrissette. She is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, but grew up in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Karen Waldrup ("Platinum Hit") is a sweet-voiced country songwriter who got the music bug as a toddler performing in front of her family. She received a vocal scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi and landed a coveted spot opening for Rodney Atkins in 2009. She was also named "Top 25 Songwriter" by Great American Country in 2008. Karen wants to show that being a southern girl doesn't mean she lacks the toughness to make it as a hit songwriter.
