Kate Lyn Sheil stars in "The Girlfriend Experience" on Starz as Avery.

Kate Lyn Sheil has acted in a number of independent films including Sophia Takal's "Green" (SXSW 2011), Joe Swanberg's "Silver Bullets" (SXSW 2011), Alex Ross Perry's "The Color Wheel," Rick Alverson's "The Comedy" (Sundance 2012), Adam Wingard's "You're Next" (Toronto 2011), the horror anthology "V/H/S" (Sundance 2012), Bob Byington's "Somebody Up There Likes Me" (Locarno 2012), Amy Seimetz's "Sun Don't Shine" (Edinburgh 2012) and Ty West's "The Sacrament" (Venice 2013). More recently, Sheil was seen in the horror film "Tears of God," the romantic comedy "A Wonderful Cloud," the dramedy "Thanksgiving, and the thrillers "The Heart Machine," "Queen of Earth," alongside Elisabeth Moss and Patrick Fugit, and "Empire Builder" with Kristin Davis.

On television, Sheil played the recurring role of Lisa Williams in Netflix's drama "House of Cards" and can also be seen guest starring in Cinemax's drama "Outcast."

In addition, Sheil co-wrote the feature-length screenplay for "Men Go to Battle," in which she also starred and for which she served as co-producer.
