Katherine Parkinson stars in "The Honourable Woman" on Sundance Channel as Ephra Stein's (Andrew Buchan) highly strung pregnant wife Rachel Stein.

British actress and writer Katherine Parkinson is perhaps best known for starring as Jen Barber on the popular UK sitcom, "The IT Crowd," a role which earned her a BAFTA nomination for best Female Performance in a Comedy Role in 2011. She made her television debut alongside Julie Walters in the telefilm "Ahead of the Class" in 2005. Since then, she has had featured roles in such comedy series as "The Old Guys," "Whites" and "Psychoville."

More recently, Parkinson was seen in BBC America's sketch comedy series "Katy Brand's Big Ass Show." Pals with Katy Brand since their days at Oxford, Parkinson can be seen channeling an awkward teenage Stella McCartney and cheeky newscaster Penny. In 2012, she appeared as the seemingly naïve but actually rather ruthless journalist Kitty Reilly in "Sherlock: The Reichenbach Fall." In 2013 she was among the cast of "Inside Number 9" for the BBC.

On the silver screen, she's appeared in "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People," starring Simon Pegg; Richard Curtis' comedy "Pirate Radio," starring Bill Nighy, Nick Frost and Phillip Seymour Hoffman; "St Trinians 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold," starring Rupert Everett, Colin Firth and David Tennant; and "Easy Virtue," opposite Colin Firth and Kristen Scott Thomas.

Parkinson studied Classics at Oxford University, before entering The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, which she left when offered a paid acting job on stage in "The Age of Consent" at The Bush Theatre. Other roles on stage include "Frame 312" at the Donmar Warehouse, "Cock" at the Royal Court opposite Andrew Scott; and "Absent Friends" at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
