Keisha Castle-Hughes stars in "Rewind" on Syfy as Priya, the team's atypical historian, a behavioral anthropologist who provides analytical context to the project and the missions, and whose knowledge of history extends beyond the boundaries of facts.

New Zealander Keisha Castle-Hughes made her unforgettable debut at the young age of 11 playing the role of Pai in the blockbuster film "Whale Rider." She received widespread acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance. She is the youngest person ever to be nominated for a Best Actress Oscar and only the second Polynesian actress to be nominated in the category. Hughes also played the main role of the Virgin Mary in the film "The Nativity Story."

She has since had major roles in the films "The Vintner's Luck," "Piece of My Heart," "Hey, Hey It's Esther Blueburger," "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" and more recently the successful Australian family film "Red Dog."

Her TV credits include a starring role in the New Zealand series "The Almighty Johnsons," a guest appearance on the syndicated series "Legend of the Seeker" and voice work on "BroTown."
