Keith Allan stars in "Z Nation" on Syfy as Murphy, the only man whose blood holds the zombie anti-virus that will save humanity.

Keith Allan is an actor and writer who has appeared in Syfy's original movies "Rise of the Zombies," starring Ethan Suplee, Mariel Hemingway and LeVar Burton, and "Zombie Night" with Anthony Michael Hall and Daryl Hannah, as well as the direct-to-video "Social Nightmare," alongside Kirsten Prout and Daryl Hannah, and "The Truth About Beef Jerky."

On television, Allan has appeared in episodes of "Mad Men," "Welcome to the Family," "Big Time Rush," "Wizards of Waverly Place," "Don't Trust the B — — in Apartment 23," "Victorious," "Scrubs," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Will and Grace."

As a filmmaker, Allan has produced, written and directed several short films including the official Sundance Film "The Big Abandoned Refrigerator Adventure," which toured with the "Spike and Mike Sick and Twisted Film Festival." In the summer of 2011, he co-wrote and directed his first feature "11/11/11" for The Asylum.

Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Allan attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. He then traveled to Colorado to work in theater, where he was awarded the Drama Critics Circle award for his performance as the Emcee in "Cabaret." He's also lived in Seattle, where he trained and performed in regional theater.

In his spare time, Allan likes to write, draw, hike, garden, travel, and dance. He considers himself a novice inventor having manufactured his own line of kinetic lamps for several years.

Allan currently lives in Los Angeles with his cat Harry Johnson.
