Khaya Cohen from "The X Factor 2013" is one of top 16 contestants in Season 3 of the FOX reality singing competition series. She is a 16-year-old high school student from New York City. Just a few lines into her first audition song, Simon Cowell stopped her and told her it was the wrong choice. Kelly Rowland asked her if she had a second song prepared, and Khaya decided to sing "I Put a Spell on You" by Nina Simone. The judges gave Khaya a standing ovation and four yeses. Demi Lovato predicted that she would make it into the finals.

Khaya Cohen made it through to boot camp and is competing in the girls category under the mentorship of judge Demi Lovato. Khaya then sang "Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Mars for the four-chair challenge, and Demi selected her to be in the top 4 girls.

Khaya's mother is a mid-wife, and her father works in education. Khaya though wants to be a professional singer and couldn't imagine doing anything else for the rest of her life.
