Lara Spencer hosts the syndicated TV newsmagazine "The Insider" and has also hosted its sister program, "Entertainment Tonight." In addition, she often shows up on the syndicated TV talk show, "Rachael Ray," dishing on the beauty secret weapons of the stars.

Previously, Spencer served as New York-based co-anchor of "The Insider," a role she began at the show's inception in 2004, when it premiered as the highest-rated debut of any newsmagazine in syndication since 1996.

high-profile stories and red carpet moments for "The Insider." In 2010, Spencer interviewed the cast of the highly-anticipated sequel "Sex and the City 2," as well as Kim Kardashian, in her first interview after an alleged stalker incident.

In 2009, Spencer also hosted the Young Hollywood Awards and co-hosted the "Live From the Red Carpet" Daytime Emmy Pre-Show. During the 2008 Presidential election, Spencer notably interviewed Todd Palin about his wife Sarah Palin's vice presidential campaign and Meghan McCain about her father John McCain's run for President.

During her career with "The Insider," Spencer has interviewed many of the industry's biggest stars, including Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Hilary Swank, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Barry Manilow, Tom Cruise, Daniel Craig, Eddie Murphy, Meryl Streep, Bette Midler, Jeremy Piven, Leonardo DiCaprio, Donald Trump and Lucy Liu. Spencer has also traveled to many exotic locations for exclusive interviews, such as Panama City, with the cast of "Quantum of Solace"; Cairo, Egypt, with the cast of "Jumper"; Athens, Greece, with the cast of "Mamma Mia"; and Rome to cover the highly anticipated wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

In addition to her work on "The Insider," Spencer is also an avid antique collector and interior designer and has appeared on numerous news programs and in lifestyle magazines, including People Magazine, CBS' "The Early Show" and HGTV's "Hollywood at Home," offering her décor tips.



Spencer has been named one of the "25 Best Dressed New Yorkers" by US Weekly and has served as host of the Woman's Day Red Dress Awards, which raises awareness of heart disease in women. Spencer is also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

Spencer has hosted three CBS primetime television specials: "Superbowl's Greatest Commercials," which highlighted the best advertising spots to air over the years; "Red Carpet Confidential," which revealed the beauty and style secrets of the stars; and "An Entertainment Tonight Event - Celebrity Weddings Unveiled," which gave a behind-the-scenes look at the lavish wedding moments, mementos and mishaps of Hollywood celebrities.

Spencer began her broadcasting career at WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn., before moving to News 12 in Long Island, New York.

From 1995 to 1999, Spencer was a lifestyle reporter for WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News" in New York City. In addition, she appeared on "Eyewitness News This Morning" and reported on many high-profile stories including the crash of TWA Flight 800 and the death of Princess Diana.

She moved to a national stage in 1999, when she joined "Good Morning America" as a national correspondent. During her tenure there, she was the head reporter on the Emmy-nominated "GMA" series, "50 States in 50 Weeks: In Search of America," which featured Spencer exploring the diversity of the American states on a road trip across America.

In 2003, Spencer signed on as host of the most-watched series on PBS, "Antiques Roadshow." She hosted the show from 2004-05, while pulling double duty as co-anchor of "The Insider."

Spencer graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.
