Lara Spencer started out as an anchor and reporter for New York's WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News." On ABC's "Good Morning America," Lara Spencer made a name for herself traveling the country reporting on some of the more extraordinary interests of ordinary Americans — from the Pokemon craze to the best mutts in America. Lara Spencer was a regular correspondent on the show from 1999 until 2004 when she became the host of PBS's "Antiques Roadshow" for two seasons. A native of Garden City, New York, Lara Spencer was a competitive swimmer and attended Penn State University, where she studied communications.
