Lauren German stars in "Chicago Fire" on NBC as Leslie Shay. She also recently played the recurring role of Officer Lori Weston in CBS's "Hawaii Five-0."

The versatile Lauren German grew up with a passion for theater and acting that led to her first stage work in leading roles for productions of both "Peter Pan" and "Oliver." Her breakout role came in 2002 when she starred with Mandy Moore and Shane West in the hit film "A Walk to Remember," directed by Adam Shankman.

German played the female lead in Eli Roth's 2007 docudrama, "Hostel II," where, unlike many other actors, she performed all of her own stunts. Her introduction to horror films came as the hitchhiker in the 2003 remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." She also has starred in Rodger Grossman's biopic of punk legend Darby Crash, "What We Do Is Secret," with Shane West and Bijou Philips, and played a role in "Spin," a romantic comedy written and directed by Henry Pincus.

On telelvision, German was a series regular on ABC's "Happy Town" and UPN's "Sex, Love & Secrets" and has appeared in episodes of "Memphis Beat," "Human Target," "Undressed," "7th Heaven," "Going to California" and "Shotgun Love Dolls." On stage she has starred in Gale Kate Jr.'s "A Midsummer Night's Rave," an adaptation of Shakespeare. She also played in Mathew Cole Weiss's romantic-comedy, "Standing Still," and in "RX,"also known as "Simple Lies," a thriller directed by Ariel Vroman.

German attended The School of Theater at the Orange County High School of the Arts and went on to study Theater and Cinema at the University of Southern California.

She currently resides in Los Angeles.
