Lauren Potter grew up in Riverside, California, and graduated from Polytechnic High School, where she studied drama, in 2009. She previously was seen in the independent movie "Mr. Blue Sky," in which she played a girl who falls in love with a boy without special needs.
Potter also stars in the web series "Leader of the Pack."
She has spoken before Congress about bullying.
