Lee Ann Whippen from "BBQ Pitmasters" is one of the pitmasters featured in Season 1 of the TLC reality series. Lee Ann ("BBQ Pitmasters") is the owner of Wood Chick's BBQ in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Lee Ann Whippen's team name is Wood Chick's BBQ. She calls the style of pit at her restaurants, Ole Hickory & Southern Pride, and for competition, Jedmaster (rotisserie smoker). She also uses WSM (Weber Smokey Mountain) and Green Egg Ceramic Smokers. She and her team win between $7,000 to $10,000 per year. Their most awarded dish is Bone in Pork Shoulder with Ribs, while coming in a close second is Shrimp stuffed with Crabmeat, which almost always places in the top 3. Her favorite food other than BBQ depends on her mood and can be French, Thai or seafood.

She says when cooking and deciding on a recipe to cook, don't substitute with low calorie. Recipes with real butter, cream and fresh herbs and spices always are good. She also says to ask the butcher to leave more fat on the meat as this creates tenderness and flavor.
