Lennie James The Prisoner Lennie James Pictures Lennie James stars in AMC's mini-series "The Prisoner" in the role of "147." Previously, Lennie James starred as Robert Hawkins on CBS's "Jericho." Lennie James was born in Nottingham, but sees himself very much as a South Londoner, as that is where he spent almost all of his formative years. Lennie James started acting after he followed a girlfriend into an audition and was asked to take part by the director. Lennie James is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is a board member of the Young Vic Theatre in London.
Lennie James has a long-spanning career. Lennie James' most recognizable role is starring as a regular in the hit CBS series "Jericho." Lennie James has appeared in several other television shows on network television in both the U.S. and Great Britain, including "State Within," "The Family Man," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Without You," BAFTA winning "Buried," and BAFTA nominated "Storm Damage," which he also wrote.
Lennie James appeared with Brad Pitt in "Snatch," directed by Guy Ritchie, and with Kathy Burke and Lee Evans in "The Martins." Lennie James co-starred with James Nesbitt in the film "Lucky Break" and recently starred in "24 Hour Party People," "Outlaw" and "Sahara" with Penelope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey. Earlier films include "Elephant Juice," "Lost in Space," "Les Miserables," and "Among Giants." Theatre credits for Lennie James include: "Two Gentlemen of Verona," "Macbeth," "This is a Chair", "Pericles" and "The Coup." Lennie James gave a towering performance in "A Raisin In The Sun" at the Young Vic and was equally praised for "Fallout" at the Royal Court. Lennie James is an award-winning actor and writer, but mostly a father of three teenage girls and has learned to accept his place in the world as an ATM and taxi driver. Lennie James is also a dedicated supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and will one day learn to play the saxophone, which he bought with his first week's wages as a professional actor that lies under his bed. At present, Lennie James lives in Los Angeles with his family, but returns often to London for good West Indian cooking, fights with his brother and rain.
