During the first season, the team members put their energy, quick minds and keen intellects toward securing justice for society's underdogs. In doing so, they helped a reservist expose a military contractor's political cover-up, staged a divine miracle to stop the plans of an unscrupulous real estate developer, landed a jumbo jet on a causeway to prevent a murder and exacted revenge against the CEO of the insurance company responsible for the death of Nate's son.
Meanwhile, the five loners learned how to work as a team and to rely on each person's unique skills. They also developed a strong emotional bond, with Sophie especially growing feelings for Nate.
After the destruction of their headquarters and the decision to go their separate ways at the end of the first season, the team now finds itself together again when Nate witnesses an attempted murder of a bank whistleblower. Nate's new Boston digs soon become the operational headquarters from which the team will conduct their activities. The season will include scamming a hedge-fund manager who happens to be in the custody of U.S. Marshals, using Eliot's martial arts skills to corner a corrupt fight promoter and taking over a private school to recover millions of dollars lost in a Ponzi scheme.
"Leverage" is executive-produced by Dean Devlin ("Independence Day," TNT's "The Librarian" movies) and creators John Rogers ("Transformers") and Chris Downey ("The King of Queens"). "Leverage" is produced by Devlin's Electric Entertainment. The show scored big in its first season, ranking as ad-supported cable's #1 show in its timeslot with an average of 3.7 million viewers.
