Liam Cunningham stars in "Safe House," opposite Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, as Alec Wade.

A native of Dublin, Ireland, Liam Cunningham's acting career began in the early 1990s and has since spanned theater, television and film. His film career began with a role in Mike Newell's "Into the West." Other significant roles include parts in "Breakfast on Pluto," "Dog Soldiers," "The Escapist" and "The Tournament." In 2006 Cunningham played the role of Dan in Ken Loach's "The Wind that Shakes the Barley," for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the Irish Film and Television Awards the following year. He repeated this success by winning the same award in 2009 for his portrayal of Father Moran in Steve McQueen's multi-award winning film, "Hunger." More recently, Cunningham was seen in Louis Leterrier's re-imagining of "Clash of the Titans," Neil Marshall's "Centurion" and Steven Spielberg's "War Horse."

On television, Cunningham appears in the second season of HBO's "Game of Thrones," as Ser Davos Seaworth, and the international miniseries "Titanic: Blood and Steel." He also starred on BBC America's drama series "Outcasts."
