Linda Cardellini reprises her role as nurse Samantha Taggart, which she originated in 2003, on NBC's highly-rated, critically-acclaimed series "ER," which holds the distinct honor of earning the most Emmy nominations of any show in television history. Linda Cardellini was seen in a starring role alongside Val Kilmer and Steve Zahn in the six-hour, epic mini-series "Comanche Moon," written by Larry McMurtry (based on McMurtry's novel of the same name), directed by Simon Wincer and executive produced by Diana Ossana. In this western, which is the prequel to "Lonesome Dove" (the 1989 television series created by Larry McMurtry), Linda Cardellini portrays 'Clara Forsythe,' the great love of Texas Ranger 'Augustus McCrae' (Zahn). Linda Cardellini played the lead role in the feature film "The Heaven Project," starring alongside actor Paul Walker. In 2005, Linda Cardellini delivered a heartfelt performance as a jilted lover in Ang Lee's highly-acclaimed drama "Brokeback Mountain," which garnered major accolades from film critics and was recognized with an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe for Best Picture and a SAG Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Motion Picture Drama by the Screen Actor's Guild. Having worked with Linda Cardellini in this film, Larry McMutry and Diana Ossana decided to cast her in "Comanche Moon," a testament to their trust in Cardellini's talent and presence on screen. Linda Cardellini also had a starring role in the ensemble film "American Gun" for IFC Films that starred Donald Sutherland, Forest Whitaker and Marcia Gay Harden. "American Gun" was the debut feature of director/co-writer Aric Avelino, and it was awarded a nomination for Best Picture at the Independent Spirit Awards in 2007. Linda Cardellini's notoriety extends far beyond the adult fans of "ER" for she captured the hearts of young girls, boys and teenagers worldwide for her portrayal of 'Velma' in Warner Bros.' pair of popular "Scooby-Doo" films, and for her roles in "Legally Blonde," Brian Robbins' "Good Burger," and Tom McLoughlin's "The Unsaid" with Andy Garcia, as well as in the Adam Sandler-produced comedy, "Grandma's Boy." Linda Cardellini first came to prominence starring as academic decathlete 'Lindsay Weir' on the celebrated NBC series "Freaks and Geeks," which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series and has recently enjoyed a renaissance on DVD. Linda Cardellini has a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre from Loyola Marymount University and completed a summer study program at the National Theatre in London. Linda Cardellini currently resides in Los Angeles, and her birthday is June 25.
